Funeral

Frozen looks
Freeze my flesh.
I sigh.
Even the breath is icy.
Where is the sun
To warm and undo
The cold in me?
I grope around..
In anticipation
Of an amiable hand,
A soft touch,
A lingering fragrance.
All I can sense..
Is the murky feel of the wetland.
A thorny paw clutches my heart..
As I recall the words said at
My funeral.
